(
Evelyn Diaz) Things got really ugly, really fast between
Phaedra Parks and
Apollo Nida. The incarcerated reality star reportedly wrote a nasty letter to his estranged wife, hurling a string of insults at Parks after she refused to accept his collect calls from prison.
“He’s so childish,” a source close to the
Real Housewives of Atlanta star tells
Hollywood Life. “She said, ‘He tried to get me together by telling me what he thought about me and numbering each pathetic insult.’”
“Phaedra said that Apollo called her a b****, selfish, fat, conceited, and a wife that ain’t loyal. He even told her that if it wasn’t for their kids, he wouldn’t care if he saw her fat ass ever again. He said it to her in a letter just like that.”
Nida exhibited similar behavior when he showed up at the couple's Atlanta mansion just before
turning himself in to police.
The reality TV couple's marriage became strained this past year when Nida was
charged with bank fraud and identity theft, and Parks started
divorce proceedings last month. The reality star, a lawyer by trade, told
Ellen DeGeneres that she had no idea about Nida's illegal activities before his arrest.
"I didn't have any idea this was going on until he called me and said, 'Hey, I've been arrested,'" Parks told the talk show host. She added that she was committed to keeping their marital drama private for the sake of their two boys, Ayden and Dylan. "That's the best thing we ever did together — we have great kids. I never want to do anything to diminish his character in public," she said, while admitting, "We've had some times when he's done things that weren't so cool, weren't so nice."
Nida is currently serving an eight-year sentence for his crimes.
